No, due to the local government’s transport rules the sightseeing cost is not included in the package cost. Pony rides, Gondola rides, water sports, and other activities are also charged extra. On request, the agent can provide an idea of this cost as well.
What are the things to keep in mind regarding the stay on the houseboat?
You can expect frequent power cuts on the houseboats. Also, the housekeeping is not available at all hours. Since the food as to be brought from outside, timings of all meals are also fixed to prevent the food from getting cold.
What is the best time to visit Kashmir?
Though Kashmir is a year round destination, summers and monsoons are considered to be the best seasons to visit Kashmir. It is so because Sonamarg is open for general public only between March – September.
Does the package cover the entire pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi?
No, the package only covers the transfer to Banganga. The journey from Bangana to the Vaishno Devi Cave is not included in the package. You can either travel on foot or hire a pony at your own cost to the top. Similarly, pick-up to the hotel is from Banganga.
Are there any laws related to liquor consumption in Kashmir?
Prohibition is not in force. However, except for The Grand Palace Intercontinental and Hotel Broadway, both of which have bars, few other hotels in Srinagar serve alcohol. Two liquor shops exist in the Sonawar district of Srinagar. No liquor is sold or served in either Gulmarg or Pahalgam.
